Hi!Tak! Please view Agenda: Content Team meeting, Dec 11 as I have added some of my questions there! Have a great day! Asma
Revert
I reverted your edits to valuesofn.com as it is in Portland. --Simon | talk 17:48, 10 December 2007 (PST)
PortlandTech calendar
I notice the addition of the calendar to PortlandTech. This is greatly improved functionality over the mere list of Events. Could the calendar also automatically integrate Meetings, so that users could see everything happening on a date merely by clicking on the date in the calendar? -- Joe Cohen | Reply 14:02, 12 December 2007 (PST)
SeattleTech tag?
- Hi, not sure if you have a SeattleTech tag, but this seems to fit, and already looks pretty great. Kasey 11:58, 13 December 2007 (PST)

I made an event listing for their job fair on the calendar. Steven | talk 16:33, 13 December 2007 (PST)
Just add to Portlandtech
I surfed through the Porland companies category on Wikipedia double-checking for missed Portland tech companies. Below is a list of the ones I added, for your review. Steven | talk 11:52, 17 December 2007 (PST)
temp. badges
are available for Seattle, Lahore, and Vancouver.
Adding Tags
Hi!Tak!
- Ijust want to confirm that i am putting SUBST:SeattleTechVentureCapital at the lower end of the page MentorUsa.com , is it the correct way to do that? Asma
- Absolutely right. As you can see on the MentorUSA.com page, what this did was then just add the Category:SeattleTech Category:Company and Category:Venture Capital tags (but all you had to do was just the one template. Additionally, it makes sure we're all using the same naming for the categories too. Keep up the great work. -- Tak
Portland Business Journal subdomain
Tak: I created a subdomain for Portland Business Journal so that I could add it to PortlandTech. You might look at it to make sure I did it consistently with AboutUs conventions. Among other things, I don't see a map (maybe I didn't do the right thing for the address) and I don't know how to get a thumbnail to appear. Also the page is a redirect from bizjournals.com/portland (which I also created), which was maybe not the best way to do it. Please make any changes, page moves, etc., that will make the subdomain work better or in a more expected manner. -- Joe Cohen | Leave me a message 21:46, 20 December 2007 (PST)
SeattleTech categories
Hi!Tak!May I create these categories?
- SUBST:SeattleTechNetworks, SUBST:SeattleTechTelecomms, SUBST:SeattleTechHoster, SUBST:SeattleTechRecruits/Contractors, SUBST:SeattleTechNetwork/WebSecurity, SUBST:SeattleTechResume, SUBST:SeattleTechWebSurveys, SUBST:SeattleTechDataBaseDesign and SUBST:SeattleTechProfessionalTrainers

Categories Without regions
Hello!Tak!
- Nice Content TeamPage!
- So, in response to your suggestions about the categories, if i ommit regions and make the following, does it seem correct
SUBST:SeattleTechNetworks, SUBST:SeattleTechTelecomms, SUBST:SeattleTechHoster, SUBST:SeattleTechRecruits, SUBST:SeattleTechWebSecurity, SUBST:SeattleTechResume, SUBST:SeattleTechWebSurveys, SUBST:SeattleTechDataBaseDesign and SUBST:SeattleTechTrainer ?
- As,
RenascentSolutions.com, MurphyAndAssoc.com is a recruitment company,RespondUs.com, RespondUs2.com, RespondUs4.com are same website but different domainnames and is a survey company, ResumesByEmail.com is a networking and recruitment one, SoundTechGroup.com is a Unix, contractor and networking, TansIGraphics.com, WebItInteractive.com and TimTyler.com is a hosting and TriLute.com is a datadesign one.NetDesk.com is a training one. N2H2.com is a web security based firm. By the time, new pages bring new need of categories and if we avoid creating new ones so how to adjust these .....
- Can we call PurdieRogers.com a SeattleTechIncubator other wise it falls in SeattleTechMarketing...too!
- Thanks!Asma
About .net and .com
Hi!Tak!
- Wel, there is a little thing which I could not understand is, if BainbridgeIslandCommunityNews.com and BainbridgeIslandCommunityNews.net are the same sites, should I insert the same details in both of them...?
- Another question,Right now, the Criteria for a complete article is:
- Description 3-4 lines or 2 paras and naming
- Product/Services... one or two lines
- Adding logo and removal of Bot generated info
- Inserting Contact/Address if lacking...
- Finding additional news/info
- Finding news/video/info about a certain company takes a while and writing about it in a different perspective also requires time as we have to go through some important sections of the website and then add the related information in our own style... These are my personal opinion about writing an article and I might be wrong as they make the process a little slow, please add your thoughts than I will change the writing style accordingly....as the requirements are writing 10-15 articles per day but if I adopt my style it will take 4-5 maximum of articles to be written per day ....Thoughts...?
- Asma, on the first question, if a website has two names, you need to do a redirect so that the articles link up. I'm going to send Ted an email to see if he can give everyone in Lahore a refresher course on redirects today, but you might just ask him as well. In this case, I happen to know the correct URL is a third one -- BainbridgeReview.com, because once upon a time (about 7 years ago) I helped design their website and was a lead graphic designer for their parent company. So, anyway, what I did was copy the article you wrote for BainbridgeIslandCommunityNews.com to BainbridgeReview.com and then redirected the other URLs to there.
- On the second question, I think I answered it just now in the ContentLog (yes, it's okay to slow down the pace to get a better article, more inline with our guidelines), but let me know if you have more questions. -- TakKendrick | talk 20:20, 7 January 2008 (PST)
Wenatchee, WA
Hey! Tak! In my opinion Wenatchee can not be included in Seattle for CourtneyPrather.com,am I right? Asma
- I think your instincts are right. I wouldn't add them. If they add themselves, that's fine, but there's only so much we can do during our attempt to find companies. In general, I think following you instinct on individual cases is the way to go. TakKendrick | talk

Manga-Anime.ro
Hi, I saw a strange message created by you at the name of this article, that the owner didn't want the site cataloged here. While I doubt that, I read your policies and it says an owner cannot reserve the right that his site would not be shown here. My question is, can I make an article for it? Thanx.
--70.173.209.238 07:44, 15 January 2008 (PST)
- Hi, please go ahead and create an article for this. The message I'd left was when the policy was in flux (now owners can ask that we don't use "bot-scraped" info on DomainPages, but we do now create skeleton pages for others to add information about the domain). Since the the policy has changed and you should feel free to add your knowledge about Manga-Anime.ro to that page. (I've created a "bare bones" page now for it.) Naturally, keep the edits constructive, and if you have any more questions, let me know. -- TakKendrick | talk 15:21, 16 January 2008 (PST)
Thoughts on adding in SeattleTech
Hi!Tak!If it makes sense, will it be feasible to add few from these list in to the SeattleTech? 1, 2, 3,Thoughts only Asma
- Great find Asma! I went through these lists and added any relevant pages to the SeattleTech (and sometimes PortlandTech) categories. -- Tak
- Yakima is not that close to Seattle isn't? so, IdeaMarketing.net won't be a SeattleTech than?
- No, Yakima isn't that close to Seattle. I grew up in Yakima, and the technology industry of Yakima isn't anything to worry about :) -- Tak
- Port Hadlock seems far from Seattle too?IoliteEdge.com Asma
- Yeah. -- Tak
Category:PortlandTech and Category:Architecture
Does architecture (in the older sense of designing buildings rather than systems) fall within Category:PortlandTech? If so, you may want to revert http://www.aboutus.org/index.php?title=Serapdx.com&curid=2278001&diff=14472290&oldid=13572697 and review that person's other recent changes. --Eohippus 16:09, 18 January 2008 (PST)
- I've left a note for a discussion on this. Edge cases like architecture I'm a fan of a "broad net" but feel like people can self-identify as they wish (ie. if someone jumps up and down saying "I'm in PortlandTech" why not let them in, likewise, if someone says, "That's silly, I'm not a tech company, that's fine too"). I do think you bring up a bigger issue and have asked our team to take a more relaxed stance when pulling things out of the category, because PortlandTech should be inclusive (IMHO). -- TakKendrick | talk 16:42, 18 January 2008 (PST)

ResumeSpider.com
Saw you added a new category to the page. I also noticed that we added Brandon's coaching client to the examples on the PromoteMe page. I think ResumeSpider.com would be good to add, if we are adding clients. Whatcha think? Steven | talk to me 20:52, 1 February 2008 (PST)
Featured site
Hi Tak, I have reverted once, maybe I am wrong: [1]. ~~ MarkDilley
Tak,
Sorry for the unintentional finger in your eye yesterday with Mark and I mucking around. I love what you did for fix it for us. Absolutely love it!
Question for you: I put the PortlandTechWikiBox on many (most?) of the PortlandTech/People and a I also badged all those people. Those pages now look funny with the badge by itself and the badge inside the WikiBox. I can think of two solutions, though I'm not sure if they both work. What do you recommend?
- Change the image inside the WikiBox into the actual badge, so anyplace that has the WikiBox is automatically badged, then remove the manual badges.
- Remove the manual badges and replace with Category:PortlandTech (I'm not sure this works in terms of tracking the whole portal traffic, etc).

Multiple location Google Map flyout not working
Hey Tak, I reverse engineered one of the excellent multiple location maps that you have been producing ;) I couldn't figure out how to get the little flyouts to work on http://www.aboutus.org/JDUnitedRealty.com For example, if you click on one of the marked location, it is supposed to display the location name. Cant wait for an actual tool that makes it easy but i think i am getting the hang of it. --Sa'ad : msg me : email : 04:19, 6 February 2008 (PST)
- Flyout was working when i was working on the map. Breakup seems random to me. It works on FortWiki.com and was working on BasketAndFloral.com too. I'll continue using the caption and hope it is fixed. Thx for the clarification. --Sa'ad : msg me : email : 22:24, 6 February 2008 (PST)

About redirecting
Hey, Tak! Should I redirect BenaroyaResearch.com to BeNaRoya.com or other wise create only definitions for it?
- Further, we can also add BenARoyaResearch.org to Seattle Tech...Thoughts Only!
