Hi Tak, Thanks for your message. Over the last few weeks some of us have made contributions to the wiki values which were also related to wiki lessons. We found some of them difficult to understand but chose ones that we felt we could contribute to. Wasim has expressed an interest in co-ordinating with you on the articles but Obed said he'd like to contribute to one or two and I will also chip in of course.

I have been looking for potential sites to be featured and have found some interesting ones but the problem is that the authors haven't really done many edits so I'm still looking. I await the first lesson on how to create a featured page. I'll collate the sites I have for you to look at either later on today or first thing tomorrow and hopefully then have a talk. The issue is that there appears to be two different pages referencing the same company.

If you go to my page, PagePartners.com, and click the related link for Mind Body is doesn't bring up the correct page. I don't know where the related link came from, maybe from your spiders.

RFSHQ.com Nom / Disclaimer

Tak, you checked the site at the worst possible time. I kid you not. Something went array with our host and I believe we've been down for a couple of hours now. I suggested the new disclaimer quote with my buddy online, so here it is copied from an autosaved chat log (this is the first time those have ever come in handy): "RFSHQ hosts articles that may contain content unsuitable for young readers. Viewer discretion is advised." We borrowed the idea for it from the little blip that shows up before most movies on cable TV. Obviously we aren't working on the site right now (heh) but for the past day or two we've been tweaking all sorts of little display issues so if need be we can always hammer out some bumps in the disclaimer if needed. I still kind of feel that maybe that is implying that there is overly-offensive content; we're trying to find the "perfect adjective" to offer a notice but not deter traffic.

Re-direct about us page

Hi Tak,

I have been working on The Oriel Group and its many companies, over the last month or so. Unfortunately the big boss men above have decided to re-brand back to it's original state called The Crown Group. Which means i am going to have to spend a while editing the whole lot and removing all the Oriel Group content.

I was wondering whether it might be possible for you guys to remove the Oriel Group domain (on about us) once i am done transferring all the information to a new Crown Group domain?

first I need to say that this is really great project, whole idea to create pages about specific website is great. Now I have 1 problem:

I create page about softwaretipspalace.com, the problem is that sometimes when I change text or insert another images first image which is available on top (not logo) disappear without any reason. This was happened again few days ago and until than I didn't made any changes. Is there any way I can fix this.

and one more thing I did nominated this page June 10 and she still is not featured, do I have to made any more changes or it is enough

Featured question

What happens when a wiki pages is nominated to be featured? Does Aboutus.org run a search every so often to see who has been nominated? Does the nominated page need a comment first? Thanks for the insight!--Evenplayn 21:49, 21 June 2007 (PDT)

Dmoz.org

I have run into a situation, working on dmoz.org about which I could use some advice. Coolbunny has a site that s/he added to dmoz.org#External_Links, however the site is not supported by or affiliated with dmoz.org, therefore I removed it. I was thinking that I could create a section for such sites, however I don't know that I should and, if I should, what to call it so that non-affiliated, but loosely related sites would know to list them there. (Well, that was an ugly sentence.)

My initial reaction was to politely ask Coolbunny to create a page for his/her site and list dmoz.org as a Related Domain. However, I don't know that this is proper, either.

revert edits

I tried to have a page redirect to another one (and I erased all the content). My redirect doesn't work and I can't figure out how to revert back to the previous page. Help! Template:unsigned

I noticed the conversation so I jumped in.. I've fixed the redirect, but if you still want to revert to a previous edit, go to the history tab and pick the edit you want, click edit, then Save Page. Best, Nathan ^(talk) / 04:57, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Tak, there's no way for me to know that it's a paid article. Also, the instructions don't say anything about saying why you're nominating. It just says to drop the template. Also, really my point was about communication. Would you have reverted someone you don't know that way, with silence? This really doesn't seem like a good way to work. Am I way off here? TedErnst

Featured Pages + Meeting Tomorrow

Hi Tak,

I'll make sure to keep my signature on the same line in the future. I'm not worried about reverting any that you changed, whatever you think is best. I did want to give you a heads up that I won't be able to make our meeting tomorrow. I feel like a total jerk. It turns out that we're leaving tomorrow instead of Saturday so I have to on a transatlantic flight by 1:00PM. I'm sorry I wasn't more on the ball. As far as the Wikitour goes, I would just recommend moving down the page systematically with what is expected in each section: what belongs in a description, what belongs in contact info, etc. along with questions that people can answer for each section, aka. When was the company founded; how many employees does it have; what is annual revenue if its a public company; has it grabbed headlines recently? Why? That sort of thing. But then again, I could be totally off base. I would also include links to research resources, the sort of thing that we might take for granted, like nytimes, wsj, wikipedia, yahoofinance, a local library. I'm sure you'll hit it out of the park and I apologize again for bailing on you at the last minute. Take care and see you in two weeks.

Any way to find out stats on page views for aboutus.org wiki pages? I know how many people came to my site through Google Analytics, but it would be cool to know how many people visit a wiki page. editing my categories

Hello, I am getting into AboutUs and think it will be helpful for my internet presence.

At the bottom of my page, atozproductions.com, are some categories that were taken from my index page. They start out fine, but then dissolve into categories with separated individual words of book titles, such as "the."

Is there any way I can influence what my categories are and edit them?

Thank you Tak- your changes to the layout make our page a lot smoother & much more balanced! Way better use of space. I didn't know there was a tool I could accidentally click- so, thanks for "mystery solved" regarding the placeholder image!

I think these pages overall- "about us" are not just interesting & fun, but ultimately a useful way for people to get a stronger sense of who the people are that they might choose to deal with online. It's also enjoyable to have space to break out a little bit & pitch your passion!

I guess the one thing I might suggest as an overall addition would be a rating tool that gives a thumbs up or down. It seems when things are designed to be more interactive and people get to actively do something it attracts users & as with many things, "easy" seems to rule the day.

Hi! Tak! I am back to get your idea about "Public Domains".I have configured some details related to this article so that i could write as we disscused earlier,the topic include

The idea is to develope a section for Public Domains to provide information to the world about the federal government resources,whose details have nothing to do with copy-rights.The above mentioned categories have different websites which are used for every one.

• can be a part of public domain as they are providing knowledgeble data for the prosperity of their future breed.

Hey Tak,

I took a look at the FeatureMePotentials list as you advised, and I realized that my impressions about AboutUs.org were very wrong. I'd somehow been under the impression that this site was a large, fast-paced project and that my nomination must have slipped through the cracks because of the length of time that nobody but you had commented on it. However looking at the nominations list, I see that's the case with pretty much all nominations. In fact, SocialDeviancy.com has the longest dialog for feature nomination out of any site on the entire page. And 90% of them only have one response from you and that's it. Granted, there are a small handful of comments from Evenplayn, and one or two others, but it seems that the state of my nomination is the rule, not the exception - or if anything, the fact that both you and I have commented on it makes it one of the more notable submissions! =)

So, knowing that this is perfectly normal, I'll stop fretting about the state of my submission and just sit back for a while. If the page gets any attention from anybody beyond you and I, I'll consider it a bonus. =)

Hi Tak, This AboutUs page was originally "ArohaTours" but was changed to "arohatours" by another User. I've been moving some pages that have NZ Maori place names that the "bot" has named incorrectly. I have now changed "arohatours" back to ArohaTours.co.nz in line with convention. I'm not sure if I also should change the featured discussion page, to reflect the fixed name. Hey thanks Tak, Well so far I don't think I've caused too much trouble *smiles*. Almost all of the page Names that I've changed haven't had any redirects as they've been "bot" pages. It looks so funny to see a language from my country "misspelt" but, of course, there are limitations with any "bot" and I think humans might do an even worse job with unfamiliar languages. I've also been helping User:Aroha_Tours with their page, just for a few days and have emailed Veronika User:Aroha_Tours to get her to come back and put up a pic or two or three.
