Odds are if you've landed on this page you've seen my edits somewhere on the wiki or I've left you a talk message.
I'm an AboutUs employee now working primarily as a co-organizer for the Content Team. I've led several of the Portals projects and am currently helping with structure and support for the PortlandTech, LahoreTech, SeattleTech and VancouverTech portal projects, and will be heading a lot of the initiative on our newest (1/08) project, the Oldcastle APG wiki area. Because writing and teaching the community are my passions, I also continue to do a lot of work on messaging, and with the Community Team on such projects as the Weblog, promoting featured pages, Patrol RecentChanges and welcome people. I've been with AboutUs since August 2006.
I have a master's degree in Creative Writing from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. My undergraduate degree is in communications from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
Professionally, I've been a journalist, writer, graphic designer, and an after-school teacher. In addition to a variety of gigs in those fields, I was formerly the news director for a community radio station in Olympia, WA. I'm also an avid baseball fan and know way too much about classic rock. I've also been a computer geek since I was eight and am happy to be helping out at AboutUs.org.
As a writer I have been published in numerous journals across the US (none of which you've heard of), and was one of the co-publishers of the now defunct Ellipsis... Literary Serials and Narrative Culture, a monthly literary magazine highlighting the long lost tradition of the "Literary Serial." Although in earlier years it varied, for the last couple of years I've been publishing nearly exclusively under my full name, "Takashi L. Kendrick".
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, if I can't answer them, I'll try to find someone who can! If you don't want to leave a message here, you can always Send me a private email
