- The path that Rob has followed to becoming the accomplished strategist that he is today has been diverse and eclectic. It included several years, as a young man, as a company commander in one of premier infantry regiments in the South African Army and as a game ranger in one of Africa's premier game reserves (the Etosha National Park in Namibia) for several years. After a period with a multinational firm of consulting engineers, he established his own consulting firm and grew it into an organization that, at its peak, employed 67 people. He then sold it through a management buyout. He started practicing in association with Edge International in 2001 and joined the firm as a principal in 2003.
