- TriMet provides public transportation in the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area, including most of Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. It's easy to get around on TriMet, using our network of buses, MAX Light Rail, Portland Streetcar and LIFT Paratransit Service. MAX and many of TriMet's most popular bus lines run every 15 minutes or better throughout the day. You can ride for free within TriMet's fare-free zone, which includes most of Portland City Center and the Lloyd District. Plus, all TriMet service is accessible to people with disabilities.
