Title

Consumerism Commentary: A Blog About Personal Finance

Description

About This Website

Once again, Consumerism Commentary was been blessed with a large amount of new readers, so I thought it might be a good idea to introduce (or reintroduce) myself and this blog. I haven’t done this in in about a year, so I think it’s about time.

I am called Flexo. I originally chose to be anonymous because I post sensitive personal information such as my bank and investing account balances. While it’s not such a big problem if readers find out my name, I’m more concerned with prospective employers, co-workers, former bosses, etc., finding this website by searching online for me. Thus, I appropriated the name “Flexo” from a popular cartoon.

I created Consumerism Commentary in 2003 in order to hold myself accountable for my finances. Although I had a rocky past after college, by the time I started this blog, I was on the path to being in “decent financial shape.” In order to take the next step, I believed starting a blog would help. I would regularly publish my account balances so I could track them over time, and perhaps gain support from readers.
