For over 18 years, JP Gillum has helped businesses manage and refine their Data Warehouses through enterprise architecture design, data modeling, data stewardship, and data governance. He has developed and implemented several data warehouses from the ground floor, including data gathering requirements, project scoping and management, and data governance and quality requirements.
Mr. Gillum has extensive experience with the IBM BDW application gained while assisting with initial implementation of four phases of upgrade of the EDW with additional source systems thereby making the EDW the system of record. Further, he has hands-on knowledge of relational databases, particularly, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and MS Access; and of the OLAP tool Business Objects. His expertise in evaluating and implementing ETL concepts and third-party tools such as IWay Data Integrator ETL tool, Informatica, and Ascential Data Stage have provided business clients with the technology they require for today’s computing systems. Additionally, he strives to ensure that organizations meet key service indicators and key performance indicators through initial implementations and upgrades of their database knowledge systems.

He has the ability and capability as well as the passion to communicate effectively with both business and technical users. Mr. Gillum has excellent written, oral, and organizational communication skills; and a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction. As an independent consultant, JP Gillum can accommodate the site requirements of his clients through temporary relocation or via extensive travel adjustments, if necessary.
Educational and Professional Training
James Peter Gillum holds a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Computer Science from Kent State University, and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Information Systems.
In June 2008, JP Gillum began pursuing a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Science (AMDS) with a specialization in Knowledge Management from Walden University. He is also a member of the Data Management Association (DAMA), and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
