WQDY is Washington and Charlotte counties first radio station, serving our communities for 40+ years and licensed to Calais, Maine. WALZ has been broadcasting from Machias, Maine since 1976. We are the two eastern-most commercial radio stations in the United States and WQDY broadcasts literally just yards from the US/Canada border. Our broadcast service area includes most of Downeast Maine and Southwestern New Brunswick. We can be heard from near Bangor, Maine to near St. John, New Brunswick and by vessels at sea along the Maine coast and through the Bay of Fundy. We're proud to serve Downeast Maine and Southwest New Brunswick with a unique blend of Classic Hits, music, news, weather, sports, information and special features. Our localized programming reaches persons from 24 years of age and up. Programming which is vital, meaningful, and entertaining. WQDY and WALZ - bringing community service home!

WQDY and WALZ broadcast 8 local newscasts per day Monday through Friday covering news from Maine and New Brunswick as well as the New England and Canaidan Maritime regions. Keeping an eye on the world we also air ABC national and world news at the top of the hour along with Paul Harvey's News and Commentary (photo) and hourly business reports throughout the day. As an AP and BN news affiliate WQDY and WALZ brings our listeners fast breaking news reports from New Brunswick to Maine - when they happen! We offer the most extensive local sports coverage, including over 100 high school basketball games each season. When people want to know the day's weather, they tune to us for the local inland and marine forecasts and doppler radar updates. Street Beat is our daily local news magazine show offering non-profit, political and local officials the opportunity to talk about upcoming events.
