The Urban Entertainment Institute is a non-profit organization headquartered in South Central Los Angeles, California that gives teens and young adults practical and working knowledge and training in all areas of the entertainment industry -- from the arts to business management.

Founded in 2002 by musical director and youth advocate Fred Martin, the Urban Entertainment Institute is an after-school program where young people gather to learn the history of music and to professionally train in vocal, theatrical and musical performance.

Students also learn the technical aspects of the entertainment business and run the merchandising and marketing aspects of the organization under the guidance of industry professionals and advisors.
