Raymond Tomlin is a veteran journalist and educator who has written frequently on the iconography of mainstream popular culture, covering cinema, popular music, dance, theatre, broadcasting, technology and the arts. He has written for Vancouver magazine, and as a syndicated columnist for many of the urban and suburban newspapers across Greater Vancouver. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Tomlin was publisher / editor of Festival, a Vancouver-based arts magazine, following which he became Arts and Entertainment editor of Two Chairs magazine.

Mr. Tomlin has taught in both the public and private school systems, as well as at the college and university level, focusing on early childhood education, English literature and writing, policy administration, curriculum development, journalism, contemporary history and the impact of popular culture on social mores. With a daughter working as an educator in Toronto, and a son completing a diploma in International Business, Mr. Tomlin’s interests in recent years have been focused on the area of emergent new media.
