I implemented Paterson and Hinze’s Finger Trees in Scala. Finger Trees are functional (immutable) sequence structures that have good performance characteristics. I hope I’ve captured the essence of them in Scala. This implementation doesn’t use lazy structures like the Haskell version does; it therefore lacks the “zipper” effect that might lead to additional efficiencies.
