Why Scotland?
My grandmother was a Mackenzie born in Tarbert on the Isle of Harris off the west coast, so my love of Scotland must be in my genes.
In 1993 I decided to escape the rat-race and spent nearly four months touring Scotland by bus, train and ferry from Arran to Orkney.
In June 1998 I was finally able to follow my heart and move to Inverness in Scotland, the home of my soul. In so doing, I took on my grandmother's surname as a public, yet personal, posthumous way of thanking her for the love of Scotland which has become my life.
