Description
NHB actively champions the development of a vibrant cultural and heritage sector in Singapore. Its role is to make heritage enriching, relevant, accessible and above all, enjoyable to Singaporeans and visitors alike. This is achieved through an annual calendar of exciting and innovative programmes that engages diverse audiences.
A key driver of Singapore's heritage sector, NHB forges strategic alliances with partners in the people, private and public sectors. It chairs the Museum Roundtable (MR) – a tightly knit community of close to 40 leading museums, heritage centres and galleries in Singapore. The MR seeks to foster a more dynamic museum-going culture in Singapore through joint marketing and developmental activities.
NHB organises the Singapore HeritageFest – an iconic annual heritage event which celebrates Singapore’s rich heritage and reaches more than 600,000 people every year. The Board also provides state-of-the-art archival and conservation services to preserve Singapore’s invaluable archival records and national cultural treasures.
