Description
In November 1996, CalendarONE was founded as a provider of online calendaring software for corporate usage. It was subsequently appointed the official calendaring utility for Singapore ONE, Singapore's high bandwidth information infrastructure for its home-grown, powerful but easy-to-use software. Continual product development and innovation culminated in CalendarONE winning Singapore's prestigious National IT Awards in 1998.
The enormous potential of CalendarONE to create a niche for itself on the global stage as the world's first events portal was the impetus for Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore to provide equity seed funding to the company in December 1998. By July 1999, CalendarONE had expanded its client base dramatically and was successful in attracting capital injection from Vertex Management, the venture capital arm of the Singapore Technologies group of companies.
Today, after securing its second round of funding from several institutional and private investors including Singapore Computer Services Limited, MediaCorp Interactive and additional funds from Vertex, CalendarONE has evolved into a leading innovator in time-based ecommerce and reservations solutions. With its easy-to-use and powerful web-based eCalendar tool, CalendarONE has also created Asia's largest online events and venues directory, paving the way towards building an ecommerce marketplace where time-sensitive services may be transacted and sold.
