About the Editors

Tony Silva is Associate Professor of ESL in the Department of English at Purdue University, where he coordinates the ESL writing program. He founded and chairs the Symposium on Second Language Writing and edited On Second Language Writing and Landmark Essays on ESL Writing. He serves on the editorial boards of Assessing Writing, Journal of Basic Writing, and Writing Program Administration. His research on second language writing has appeared in TESOL Quarterly, College Composition and Communication, and a number of other journals.
