Thank you for your interest in the OSU James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Opening our doors in 1990 as the adult patient-care component of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, The James is one of 16 charter members of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. We are one of just a few freestanding cancer research and treatment hospitals in the United States, and the only one in Ohio. This year The James was again rated as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report.

The OSU James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute had 6,992 inpatient admissions and 147,479 visits to outpatient areas in fiscal 2003-04. The James is located on The Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio, and offers patients an extensive, modern hospital dedicated to the detection and treatment of cancer. Facilities include:

The James Cancer Hospital is the living legacy of Dr. Arthur G. James, the distinguished physician and surgeon who dreamed of bringing a world-class cancer center to central Ohio. His commitment to that dream ultimately gave rise to the hospital that was named in his honor. Dr. James' death in 2001 marked the end of an era, but heightened the resolve of The James' leadership to further his legacy by providng the finest in cancer care to everyone who passes through our doors.
