About
Welcome to the obligatory “about me” page, where I get to babble endlessly about myself to a mostly imaginary audience (because we all know that nobody actually takes the time to read these things).
I was born in 1979 in southeastern Connecticut. I lived there for 5 or 6 years, then I spent the rest of my childhood in Holland Michigan (home of the Tulip Time Festival and Rob Malda of Slashdot fame). When I was a freshman in high school, I moved back across the country to Shelton Connecticut (home of the wiffle ball), and I and lived there until I finished college. Today I have a one-bedroom apartment all to myself in the Westville area of New Haven Connecticut.
I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2003 with a Bachelors in computer science, though I never really considered myself a great student. Rather than memorizing abstract algorithms and complex equations that I had little or no interest in, I tended to spend my nights writing/playing with open source software on Linux and FreeBSD.
