As I mentioned yesterday, Sketchup was released for the Mac and that it was wonderfully simple to use. Something I can't say for Blender. One of the problems with the free version of Sketchup was that it had a limited export capabilites. Well, Hardmac is reporting that the ".kmz files exported by Sketchup can be imported in Blender using the Python scripts you can download (from) here." For more details on the installation and all that, check the site. You can also do the reverse as Blender's using the .dxf formats. Wonderful, design in Sketchup, finish in Blender.

Engadget reports that in order for a laptop to be adjudged "Vista Premium," it has to carry hybrid drives. No idea when we will actually see Vista. But I find it encouraging that Microsoft is pushing the Hybrid drives which is a clearly an evolutionary step in hard drive technology. Hybrid drive consists of Flash (faster, safer but more expensive) and hard disk drives.
