The term, exotic, varies according to perspective. Usually, we think of anything exotic to be out of the ordinary, so it follows that we usually think of exotic things as other-worldly. From somewhere else to the point of being rare;certainly not from our own garden gate.And in the flower biz, that's true as we import from exotic places like Hawaii, Israel, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico. But here in Vancouver we have stupendous peonies and hydrangeas and amaranthus and celosia, so wonderful and in small supply that they would be on the exotic list elsewhere if these were something that we exported.
