Alzira the Place
Alzira (Spanish: Alcira) is a town in the Catalan-speaking Valencia province, eastern Spain. It was an important city, called Al-Yazirat Suquar, during the Muslim era until its conquest by King Jaime I in the thirteenth century. It is now best known for its fine oranges. Alzira lies within the Ribera Alta comarque (an intermediate subdivision between municipality and province).
