MyUSCoins.com was started in the fall of 2008 because I needed a place to record my coin collection, and I didn't feel like dropping even 30 bucks on one that I would have to delete off my laptop eventually anyway. My solution was to create my own database to store my coin collection, and to do it on the web so I could retrieve it from anywhere. Since it's on the web, I figured I would open it to anyone that wanted to sign up, and keep it free.
