About kAbuseCha.com

Kabusecha (被せ茶) known also as covered tea or shaded tea is a type of Japanese sencha tea cultivated in un-shaded tea gardens exposed to direct sunlight, which, unlike other varieties, requires shading the tea plants prior to harvest. Special nets (called kabuse) are hung over the plants to obtain a natural shade without completely letting out sunlight. (The degree and period of shading is shorter than that gyoukuro - 50-80 darkness, 1-2 weeks.
