- Founded in 1945 by Matthew Futter, the Futter Lumber Corporation is owned and run by CEO Bernard Futter, who joined his father in 1950. Recognized as one of the largest lumber Wholesale / Distributors on the East Coast, Futter Lumber sold about 500 million feet of lumber and panels in 2004 to lumberyards that cater more toward the professional builder trade. With additions to our Buyer personnel and Sales force through 2004 along with new product lines, sales in 2005 are expected to reach 700 million feet. The company transports lumber and panels via railcar, truck and ship direct to our customers or to one of 15 distribution facilities located in the US (including Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.) Futter Lumber has 5 offices stretching from the home office on Long Island, NY to Portland, OR. Our East Coast offices and distribution facilities currently and regularly service from Maine to Georgia.
