I just bought a fine Altus Flute, and was looking for a company to do annual maintenance and long-term repair as needed. Some companies are just repair companies and don't have experience building flutes; others are "fast-track" repair "factories".
It was a relief to discover EPPLER FLUTE COMPANY!! Alexander Eppler has been building exquisite wooden flutes and silver flutes for over 30 years, and he knows most everything there is to know about all aspects of flute building, restoration, repair, and maintenance. If you look through his website epplerflutes.com you will see he is not only amazingly experienced, but he is an old-world craftsman of a vanishing breed.
It gives me a sense of peace to know that he will be doing the annual maintenance and long term repair on my fine Altus Flute.
