To provide scientifically validated purification therapies that relax the mind and revitalise the body by releasing stresses, toxins, imbalances and impurities. To impart a basic understanding of Ayurvedic principles to maintain good health and vitality.
Ayurveda UK was founded by Danny Cavanagh and Carol Willis. Their interest and study of Ayurveda began in 1990 when they first experienced the life-enhancing benefits of yoga, pranayama and meditation. As their knowledge of these fascinating subjects developed they were drawn to other aspects of this 'science of life' and later trained as ‘Ayurvedic Panchakarma technicians’ at the University of Valkenburg in Holland. They gave up their careers as Nature Reserve Warden and Photographer respectively and decided to dedicate their lives to passing on this ancient knowledge of rejuvenation and revitalisation. Soon after they helped establish European Ayurveda at Oak Hall in Bournemouth (then the only fully residential Ayurvedic clinic in the UK). More recently they have been involved in the establishment and running of an Ayurvedic wing at Hoar Cross Hall, a highly prestigious health spa in rural Staffordshire.
Recognising the need for smaller, friendlier and more intimate style therapy centres, with a focus on individual attention, they founded Ayurveda UK in early 2000. They now specialise in intensive detoxification and revitalisation programmes from the Ayurvedic tradition. They are based in Staffordshire but also provide an exclusive 'Home Visit' service throughout Britain and Europe.
