Robert Mir founded Mir Printing & Graphics was in 1997 one year after he arrived from Iran with no job prospects or skills. He was hired at a printing company to work in the bindery, where he learned about folding and collating.

The work fascinated him and he enjoyed the art and design aspect of printing. To continue his education, he took classes in Adobe CS Suite and later enrolled in the printing department of Pasadena City College while gaining more on-the-job training at larger print shops.

Finally, he purchased his own small press and began printing from his garage, later moving the business into the rear of an automotive body shop. The business grew, and by working nearly 24 hours a day, Robert purchased two larger presses (first a two-color and then a five-color) and hired extra help.

Today, Mir Printing & Graphics is located in a 28,000-sq-ft facility in Canoga Park, outside Los Angeles.
