The ancient market town of Newtown is located in the heart of the magnificent Montgomeryshire countryside nestling on the banks of the River Severn.
Set in one of the most beautiful areas of Wales, rich in stunning landscapes, the bustling town is steeped in history. Newtown is probably best known for its famous sons, Robert Owen and Pryce Jones. Owen was the founder of the Co-Operative movement and an acclaimed social reformer, while Jones’s claim to fame is that he founded the world’s first mail order business in the town.
Situated on the main Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth train route, the town has a well established manufacturing base and offers a range of attractive shopping opportunities that lure shoppers and tourists from far and wide.
