Title

Beaumont Support Services - A Holistic Approach to Quality Care

Description

Vincent Burini and Stephen Porter established Beaumont Support Services back in September 1993 by opening Park House - our first care home for service users with mental health needs in Bensham, Gateshead. The home was small with registration for only seven adults.

Continued interest and demand for the service meant that another establishment was required to meet the needs of service users in the borough. Beaumont Support Services acquired Windermere House in February 1996 and re-named it Parkside Lodge. Located just around the corner from Park House, the home was larger with registration for twelve adults with mental health needs - focusing on younger adults and expanding the service to those with a need for Rehabilitation and Out-Reach requirements.

In 1997, Beaumont Support Services acquired The Beeches in Lobley Hill Gateshead, and re-named it Beechwood Hall. The home was a first for the group in that it caters for elderly adults with dementia and related mental health needs, with an original registration for ten service users. The home was extended in 2000 with a second floor being added to the building and registration increasing to seventeen.
