Title

Brinsfield Echols Funeral Home- Maryland: funerals, cremation, caskets, urns

Description

Service is a tradition at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Homes. Garyton C. Echols, Jr. and his wife Carol purchased Arehart Funeral Home in 1969 from Roy C. Arehart who established the funeral home in 1954. Garyton C. Echols, Jr. joined the firm in 1957 after branching out on his own from his grandfather, William Chambers of the Chambers Funeral Homes in Washington, DC and Maryland. His sons Garyton C. Echols III and David C. Echols now run Arehart-Echols Funeral Home with their father. Garyton C. Echols Jr. and his sons now make four generations of funeral directors in their family.

In March of 2000, the Echols Family and Edward N. "Ned" Brinsfield partnered and opened a new state of the art funeral home and crematory in Charlotte Hall, Maryland located between the La Plata, Arehart-Echols Funeral Home location and the Leonardtown, Brinsfield Funeral Home location. The Brinsfield and Echols Families partnered to strengthen their commitment to offer the finest personal funeral service at the most affordable prices, as only family owned and operated funeral services can.

Edward N. "Ned" Brinsfield began his career as a funeral director with his cousin, at Maurice E. Newman and Son Funeral Home in Easton, Maryland, in 1965. He worked with his cousin until 1980 when he purchased the Robinson Funeral Home in Leonardtown, which has been operating in St. Mary's county since the 1920's. He moved to Leonardtown with his wife, Nancy, and son, Edward N. Brinsfield, III, and renamed the Robinson Funeral Home, Brinsfield Funeral Home.
