iMunchie.com is a social network for foodies.

Fans of gourmet food across the globe should take note of iMunchie, a U.S. based social network for foodies that aims to become the Twitter for food, the Google of recipes, and the Master Chef of the Internet in every country around the world. The site provides a large, searchable catalog of recipes submitted by registered iMunchie users from around the world, as well as holding online food competitions called, iMunchie Tournaments.

Users become iMunchie chefs by completing iMunchie's free registration. Once users become part of the network, they can upload recipes, or Munchies, for free, as well as browsing through countless Munchies uploaded by other iMunchie chefs. As users navigate through the database, artificial intelligence and specialized algorithms keep track of page views and suggest customized Munchies to the user.

Chefs with special requirements can personalize their profiles with allergy and diet options, as well as set preferences for kosher and organic Munchies. The database can even be used to seek out recipes that contain specific ingredients.

The iMunchie tournaments, which can be created by and competed in by any registered iMunchie, are similar to the popular television show, Master Chef, and are a great way for long-distance friends to engage in social events. Tournaments often offer fantastic prizes such as vacation packages, money, food supply products, gifts and more, and can be used by companies as a way to crowd source recipe ideas.

The iMunchies organization was founded in 2011 by entrepreneurs Jacob Baloul and Bryan Pivik who share a common interest in food technology.

IMunchie launched its first release on July 4, 2011, and its official 1.0 release on November 11, 2011. Since its release, iMunchie has gained an impressive amount of traffic, reaching 90,000 page views in four months from every continent around the world.
