In 1894, Rabbi Leopold Cohn founded this ministry in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York Soon after he accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as his Messiah. He began the mission by holding meetings in a store that was actually a renovated horse stable. The foundation of his work for the Lord was grounded in Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
