CHILD HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRE located in Old Mulago Hospital next to the Paediatric Ward (Ward 15 or PIDC Clinic), is a multidisciplinary specialized multi-sectoral institution under Makerere University Faculty of Medicine, fostering national capacity building for child survival and development. It is a research and training institution that maintains strong linkages with government bodies, community groups, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and service provider groups.
Vision Creation of a Centre of excellence for sustainable interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral national capacity building for improving the health of children and women.
Mission To develop CHDC from a small, reactive centre to a more pro-active and sustainable interdisciplinary research and training institution that takes the University expertise to the people for health and social development.
