CHANCES for Indiana Youth began in 1985 as the Vigo County Task Force on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. The agency was started with a humble $20,000 grant. CHANCES took off with a mission not looking back and is continuing to grow. In 1999, CHANCES merged with Indiana Communities for Drug Free Youth to become the extended agency of CHANCES for Indiana Youth. Over the years, CHANCES has been recognized both locally and nationally for its efforts in alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse prevention.
