Already Germany’s largest social network, qeep is a multi-layered software suite containing numerous features for users to communicate. The current selection of features includes qeep’s unique messaging service (QMS), photoblogging, live turn-based games, and a unique patented feature called the Sound Attack.
QMS is qeep’s unique messaging system. The Qeep Messaging Service reduces cost by compressing messages via a GPRS/UMTS system. And since qeep is compatible with numerous phones outside SMS-capable phone services, qeepers can text people who they normally couldn’t reach.
The qeep
photoblogging system makes taking and sharing pictures with the mobile phone easier and more cost effective. Users can store unlimited photos in their qeep photoblog, where they can be viewed by all other users. In this way, qeepers share photos with one another without the cost or hassle of picture messaging.
Qeepers also engage one another via
live gaming, turn-based multiplayer games built right into the program. Although friends can certainly compete, qeep’s live games also offer a great way to meet new people. Players can challenge anyone on the network to a game. Current selections include “Battleships” and “Quadrix,” with more free games forthcoming.
The most unique element of qeep’s interface is the “
Sound Attack” feature, which allows users to send each other humorous audio messages. These sound effects play instantly upon arrival, thereby “attacking” the recipient’s phone. Since all Sound Attacks are built into qeep’s programming, users are not actually “sending” the sound, just activating the file in their friends’ phone. This makes the message size incredibly small, and virtually free.
Qeep’s strength comes from its high compatibility, intuitive interface and free implementation. Written on a Java-based platform, qeep is compatible with over 250 model handsets. Additionally, qeep only requires 96kb of memory. These elements make qeep compatible with numerous older model phones. Since there are also no subscriptions or fees, qeep is a highly cost-effective outlet as well. The interface is also easy to understand, which has already made qeep a popular resource for social networking in countries across the globe.
