St. Elias Specialty Hospital is Alaska’s first Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH/LTCH). It is Medicare-certified and Joint Commission accredited and is the only hospital of its kind in Alaska. St. Elias Specialty Hospital is a joint venture with Providence Health System and BridgeCare Hospitals. There are 60 beds, mostly in private rooms, with state of the art equipment to provide for patients who require extended in-patient acute care.
