The purpose of formation of the Association, was to further the interests of Shipping Lines (vessel Owners and Operators), as compared to the interests of Ships Agents, whose concerns are represented by another Association, known as ASABOSA.

MISSION STATEMENT: To offer our Members a pro-active service providing a forum for information, knowledge exchange, guidance, representation in negotiations with third parties to ensure effective, and efficient cargo, and ship transit, through South African Ports. To further represent, and promote the Membership in the Port community, or other forums to ensure the rights, and protection, and development of the Members
The above Association was created and formed, in June 1970. The purpose of the Association is to protect and further the interests of Ships Agents and Brokers, on all matters of common interest.
