Christchurch, October 19th 2005 - HumanWare’s low vision customers look set to benefit from an announcement by the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology (FRST) that will see the company receive $100,000.
The funding, granted through FRST’s Technology for Industry Fellowship Scheme allows New Zealand companies to second the services of industry experts or specialists. The money will be used by HumanWare to undertake a nine-month project assessing the usability of various low vision products.
To complete this project HumanWare have enlisted the expertise of Amanda Mander from Zanzara Ltd, a consulting firm founded in the US that designs interfaces for technology-based products. As well as having a huge amount of experience in the area of usability, Amanda is also skilled in interaction design; a specialized design discipline that ensures the end design meets the customer’s needs and expectations.
