All About Al
It's come to my attention that some people who aren't blood relatives have started reading this site. And they're peeved. They're peeved because they have to sort through two years of pointless drivel to get an idea of what the meaning of Al is. At first, I was reluctant to write something so self-congratulatory, but then I realized: it's my website. And if I'm not going to write about me, who is?
My name is Alan, and actually, I really don't like being called Al all that much. I don't mind it, but I certainly don't encourage it. Once, in pilot training, my new squadron commander asked my name, and when I told him, he asked if he could call me Al. "Dot com", chimed in 3 of my classmates.
So, there it is: I'm a pilot in the US Air Force. Presently, I'm stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma and I fly the E-3 AWACS to most of the war-torn and sandy places in the world. My assignment may change in the future, but I'll always be proud to wear the uniform. Not so much because of what I've done in it, but because of the men and women who went before me.
