At the end of World War II, Gilbert Yates returned to his profession as a funeral director in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho after serving overseas with the U.S. Navy. He founded our funeral home operation in 1952 at its present location on 4th Street. We remodeled and enlarged this facility in 1971 when Dexter Yates returned from college and a tour of duty in the Navy to join his father in the family business.
