Welcome to XANADUonline. This is the online version of our retail rock and roll store located in Overland Park, Kansas. We've been in business in the same location for over 15 years. Our purpose in establishing this online presence is to better serve our loyal customer base, which extends to a radius of over 100 miles from the metro Kansas City area. Many times over the years a group of customers who had made a "road trip" to Kansas City to shop at Xanadu would say "When are you going to open a store like this closer to us?" This online store was conceived with those people in mind. However, the beauty of the Internet is that there are no geographic limitations at all, and we hope and expect to have visitors who would otherwise never have an opportunity to see our store.
What is Xanadu? I'm always hesitant to try to describe in a few words what kind of store Xanadu is because it's easy to leave something out. Above I used the term rock 'n roll shop, but that's too narrow. How about if I describe what our inventory consists of and let you decide what we are. Concert and band t-shirts are the backbone of Xanadu. Our selection is second to none and we try to carry all of the bands you would expect as well as those hard to find bands and artists that most retailers won't stock. We normally will have at least 200 bands in stock. We also carry a large selection of movie and novelty t-shirts. Our poster collection is easily the most complete in the Midwest. We can display nearly 3,000 posters in-store covering a wide variety, including over 250 giant subway titles. For the Web store we are limiting the poster selection to music, movies and personalities, blacklight, and a miscellaneous section that includes college posters, fantasy art, and novelty posters. Other items include iron-on embroidered patches, hundreds of stickers, caps, beanies, and tapestries. Is that all? No, but the site now contains about 3,000 items and will continue to grow in the coming months including new product categories. It is designed to be a fully searchable database, allowing you to search by band or artist, which lets you browse all of the merchandise of a particular band, or pick a type of product and see an alphabetical listing of all items in that product category. So take a few minutes to browse through our store. We hope you enjoy it and come back often.
