In short, once you use xPing, you will never want to use any other system for maintaining or tracking your business network What we are not.
xPing is not a social network, directory, or CRM system. Our only mission is to make it very easy for you to exchange business card information with anyone in the world. When you give your business card to someone, we want to be 100% certain that the other person can find you and connect with you at anytime. With our powerful search features, we know that business card exchanges that used to go to waste, are now going to be used to find the right business contact. Why we are.
I started xPing because I got tired got having hundreds of business cards on my desk and no time to enter all of them to my Outlook or online address book. I knew other business executive went through the same issue. Getting dozens of business cards during conferences, meetings and business dinners. But no time to enter them online. So, I started to think about the perfect application that would solve my problem. That's where the idea of this site came about.
But, what truly makes us different is that we listen to you, our users. xPing employees (from our CEO to accounting to our aforementioned geeky engineers) personally answer each and every email. Try it. Send a question or comment (sample: "Where has xPing been all my life?") and you'll get a real answer from a real person (sample: "In New Jersey, thanks for asking.")
Anyone can listen but we also react. Sometimes it's fixing a bug reported by a user. Other times, it's adding a tool that users are asking for.
xPing believes making it easy to exchange and search your business cards will have meaningful impact on your professional life. But why shouldn't the business of business cards be as enjoyable as the rest of life (or even better than the money you blew on that date last month). You'll see a sense of humor throughout the site. xPing makes money when members join our service and upgrade to a full subscription membership. This is a revenue model (for all of you MBAs) similar to that of Time Magazine and the Wall Street Jounrnal. We keep the entire site focused on the quality of the user experience.
Since our members pay for the full membership, our only goal is to make them happy. We do not junk up xPing with ads, or send you countless emails asking you to come back to the website so we get more pageviews. We leave that to social networks that need an advertising model:)
The bottom line for our members, however, is that we are not trying to get you to click an ad or come to our site everyday so that we make some crazy investor happy:) We only care about you and your experience with our site. If we cannot provide enough value for you to want a membership on our site, then we have a lot of work to do. But I am certain that you will see the value of our service pretty quickly!
