For six years I was editor-in-chief of a staff magazine, and I'm currently editor for a local newsletter - that's been happening for around three years now. I do freelance editing and am a contracted freelance book editor for an overseas publishing house. I'm also an editor for a world-wide writer's co-operative.
I've judged many (fiction) writing competitions, and until January 2005, wrote a monthly travel article for a magazine in the US. That lasted almost three years - until they changed the focus of the magazine. They asked me to stay on, but the new subject matter didn't interest me at all, (articles about wine - I'm a tee-totaller!) so opted out. Until recently I was a regular columnist for a subscription site for writers, and have had copious articles for writers published, covering techniques for both fiction and non-fiction. Many of those can be found on this site, and I'll be adding to those as time permits. Most recently, I've joined the team at Beginnings Magazine, which is a print magazine for novice writers.
