The World Yoga Center is home to Anusara Yoga an exceptional system of Hatha Yoga developed by John Friend. The Asanas are taught with clear and anatomically precise principles of alignment based on the natural science of bio-mechanics which honors the natural movement of the body. The practice of the Asanas dissolves external and internal blocks that limit our vitality and opens the heart. The World Yoga Center is known for its spiritually vibrant atmosphere and high quality teaching. The wisdom and power of Yoga permeate the classes so that students who are drawn to the practices for increased spiritual awareness will flourish at the school. The focus of our classes is both on the transformative use of the physical body, its coordination, flexibility and strength, and on the subtle body with its flow of energy and radiance. Students receive individual attention and can develop at their own pace in a climate of stillness, compassion and play. Our teachers are committed to serving students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in discovering the goal of Yoga, which is to celebrate the heart, and to know the great freedom and joy that live at the core of every human being. The Center offers a full schedule of Anusara classes, individual meditation training, special workshops and the WYC 200 hour Teacher's Certification program. The mentoring program includes monthly gatherings for Yoga teachers, and private counseling sessions for inner work.
