Welcome to Worden's Gardens!

Description

Aquaculture expert Bill Worden was born in 1942, in a small fishing village on Oneida Lake in upstate New York, the son and grandson of fishermen. Growing up surrounded by aquatic plants, Bill learned their lore very young and studied how Mother Nature took care of them.

At the age of 12, Bill moved to Oregon's rainforest area, where he spent almost two decades accumulating knowledge of a different category of aquatic plants and wildlife.

A happenstance of life brought Bill to Arizona in his thirties. In the early '70s, Bill befriended some Apache Indians, who taught him about southwestern plants: cacti and the types of aquatic plants that thrive around natural springs in oasis areas of the Sonoran Desert. Bill was fascinated to see how Mother Nature took care of aquatic plants even in the middle of the desert.
