Description
William Laberge spent his childhood in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He received a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Vermont then moved to New York City to pursue a career in film production. After the fast pace of feature films for five years he wanted to return to more traditional values and a more tangible existence.
His career as a cabinetmaker began with an apprenticeship to an experienced cabinetmaker. He now runs his own cabinetmaking shop and showroom in Dorset, Vermont, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
William creates furniture in the Shaker and Arts-and-Crafts traditions, Colonial reproductions and custom designs. He recently completed furnishings for the Presidential Suite of the renowned Equinox Hotel in Manchester Vermont. His furniture can also be found in the Yale Law Library in New Haven, Connecticut.
