Description
The Whisker Club was formed in 1998 to emulate the clubs seen in Europe. They are having a great time organizing competitions. In 1997 there was one American involved in two world competitions. For the event in 1999 there were two and that number increased to three in 2001. These are obviously small numbers for a country the size of the U.S. The Europeans would certainly welcome more competition from the States and our goal is to make that happen. The number of American competitors has continued to increase and the US was of course well represented May 22,'09 in Anchorage Alaska. Additional Information
The Whisker Club is a beard and moustache club based in Bremerton, Washington (near Seattle). We strive to have fun, promote the growth of facial hair, competitions among those who are proud of their whiskers and benefit the community. The club has raised funds for Childrens Hospital, United Way, Catholic Community Services, Washington Veterans Home, WIN (Women in Need) and Treehouse. The club will continue to work with the community for the benefit thereof.
