- Webster Cold Forge was founded in 1925 by Arvin C. Webster. Arvin was originally trained as a blacksmith in Summitville, Indiana during the 1890s. He received his engineering degree from Purdue University in 1907, then, from 1907 to 1925, worked as an engineer for Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut. In 1925 Arvin moved to Detroit, Michigan where he founded the Webster Cold Forge Company, at 5680 Federal Avenue, to supply the newly expanding automotive industry.
