My personal fascination with watches spans 35 years and 200 watches--old and new, mechanical and automatic, inexpensive and expensive. Over the years, I learned how to take watches apart and to marvel at the ability of the watchmaker to create a masterpiece that can track time, day, month, date, moon phase, and year. The most valuable lesson I learned about watches is they should be worn, not placed in a drawer or a safe. And, if you are going to wear a watch, it must be kept wound with the time, date, and other functions set.
