Wangmang: Free E-cards -- Animated Art E-Cards by contemporary Artists

Description

Known in Chinese history as "the Usurper," Wang Mang took the throne from the Han dynasty in 9 A.C.E., following a series of peasant revolts that threatened to overthrow the state. He determined that the greatest threat to security was the excessive power of the landowners, claimed all land for the state, and distributed it among the peasants, who were to pay taxes. However, the landowners — many of whom were civil servants — resisted the reforms, leaving no one to put them into effect.

The peasants revolted again, joined by an especially fierce secret society called the "Red Eyebrows." Wang Mang's rule ended with his death in 23 A.C.E., when rebels sacked his capital and his centralized bureaucracy was destroyed. Widespread destruction followed, but the combined forces of landowners and supporters of the Han dynasty suppressed the rebellion and restored the Han to power.

Today, Wang Mang returns as the premier source on the web for free e-cards. Here, you can pick, customize and send truly unique e-cards that are developed from artwork submitted by local artists. In fact, Wang Mang was created not only to "share the love" through revolutionary eGreetings, but also to bring much needed exposure to artists in the Bay Area community. Best of all, it's tax- and bloodshed-free!
