The Walkaway story began when I was a senior in high school in St Louis in 1961. I met Ann Lee and Will Konneker of the prominent High Halo kennels through my mother who taught a sewing class which Ann Lee attended. Konnekers had been in Dobermans for some time and their foundation bitch was Brown's High Halo, one of several dogs they had obtained from Jack and Eleanor Brown. High Halo was named Trudy and she was the most wonderful Doberman I had ever seen.
